What is tire repair fluid?

Release time: 2026-04-22T10:42:43.000+00:00
Tire repair fluid:
Concept: A liquid mixture composed of various polymer compounds and particles of different particle sizes such as rubber. It has the effect of preventing leakage and repairing leaks.
Working principle:
The repair liquid enters the tire through the inflation hole. Under the action of air pressure and centrifugal force during tire rotation, it instantly polymerizes around the puncture or at the hole to form a high-molecular polymer with certain plasticity, elasticity and strength. Then it firmly seals the leak and can withstand the impact of overweight-loaded tires and the ground for a long time.
Tire Maintenance Tips:
During the use of tires, necessary maintenance is still very important. Tire maintenance usually focuses on the following aspects:
First, you need to choose the right tires for your running. For use in the city, select city tires; for frequent mountainous terrain runs, choose all-terrain tires. And remember to maintain them.
2. Tire pressure check. When the tires are cool, that is, after parking for three hours or after traveling less than 2 kilometers. Check the tire pressure (including the spare tire) of all tires at least once a month under cool conditions. The pressure value should follow the parameters recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. If any abnormality is found, the cause must be thoroughly investigated. Tire pressure is an important indicator of tire lifespan. If the pressure exceeds the normal level by 20%, the tire's lifespan will decrease by 10%. If it is lower than the normal level by 30%, the tire lifespan will decrease by 52%.
3. Avoid foreign objects. During vehicle operation, even a tiny pebble that goes unnoticed during high-speed driving can cause significant damage to the tires. Special attention should be paid during the driving process. Some accidental cuts, incorrect tire tread matching, as well as pollution from gasoline and diesel, can all reduce the performance of the tires.
4. When the tires reach the wear indicator mark, they should be stopped from use. The wear indicator mark is usually located at the point where the remaining depth of the tread grooves is 1.6 millimeters.
5. Wheel alignment and balance, as well as tire adjustment. Due to factors such as the position of the driving tires, the front and rear wheels of the tires wear differently. Tire adjustment can achieve the best tire wear condition and extend the service life. Generally, it is done after the tires have traveled 8000-10000 kilometers. However, if uneven wear on the tire tread is detected, it should be replaced as soon as possible upon discovery.
6. Preventing tire aging and damage. As tires are made of rubber, it is essential to avoid contact with chemicals such as oil, acids, and hydrocarbons when driving, parking, or storing the tires. Otherwise, they may suffer corrosion, deformation, and softening. When parking, it is recommended to keep the vehicle in a shady area to prevent premature aging and damage of the tires due to direct sunlight. For daily maintenance, you can use tire wax or other similar products for care. After all, tires are crucial for the safety of your vehicle. Therefore, it is still necessary to pay close attention to these issues on a regular basis.
